I cannot forget this engagement in Venice! Mario decided to propose to her girlfriend in a very particular month, August. In fact, it is usually a month of vacation also for many suppliers. Mario decided to have a tour in the typical gondola, but I actually made a sort of miracle finding a photographer, videographer, florist…. but the worst was finding someone preparing a banner with the proposal.
When we plan this unique marriage proposal, the gondolier has to be first a good actor. In fact, he has to welcome the couple discreetly and be absolutely on time with the surprise. Of course, in all our engagements in Venice, we have a professional assistant who will take care of any small detail, from the delivery of the pre-wedding bouquet to all the checks about itinerary and coordination of the suppliers.
When Mario contacted me for the engagement in Venice, it was the period of Ferragosto and most of the Italian people are usually on vacation. Apart from the busy period, Mario asked me to plan everything two days before the surprise! It was really crazy finding a photographer and videographer free for the date but it is quite normal for wedding planners to realize miracles 🙂
The worst part was finding someone preparing the banner, but thanks to my colleague and wedding planner Luisa, we made and a handmade and very original banner with the personalized wedding proposal.
It was a really sunny day and all was perfectly arranged. Mario and Nikki arrived at the gondola station and the assistant welcomed them starring as a hostess at the gondola station. The photographer and videographer started the service at the moment they got in the gondola, without being seen by the bride to be.
The gondolier started the classical tour and Mario was visibly nervous. All the suppliers have literally run to the wedding proposal’s bridge (we cannot be late!), waiting for the gondola. When Mario and Nikki arrived at the same bridge, Mario was on his knees asking the decisive question, while two assistants were holding the banner and throwing petals during the passage under the bridge…..
It was so romantic!!!!
Finally the couple had a fantastic engagement shooting in Venice to celebrate the “yes, I do”!!!
