Liguria is a small region in the north-west of Italy, stretching along the Ligurian Sea to the Italian border with France and to the region of Tuscany. Liguria is very versatile. It includes some very different and interesting areas. Cinque Terre, the Gulf of Poets (Golfo dei Poeti), Gulf of Tigullio (Golfo del Tigullio), Genoa and Golfo Paradiso, Palm Riviera (Riviera delle Palme) and Flower Riviera (Riviera dei Fiori) stretched along the famous Ligurian coast, which extends for more than 300 km. Liguria has a typical rocky shoreline with small bays and inviting beaches. The most famous and luxurious tourist resorts of Liguria are mostly located on its east coast, which is called the Riviera di Levante. Here yiu will find world famous town of Portofino, Santa -Margerita Ligure, Rapallo, Sestri Levante with its charming Bay of Silence (Baia del Silenzio), Lerici and Portovenere. 

Portofino is an exclusive resort with aristocratic atmosphere: Princess Grace of Monaco and Sophia Loren wereamong the many celebrities spend their holidays here. Portofino lays in sheltered bay surrounded by stunning Italian countryside. There you will admire excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains of Corsica. Portofino is also a very picturesque port with colourful traditional houses, luxurious yachts, with great restaurants and boutiques. Walking in a beautiful surrounding while enjoying the perfect Mediterranean climate - it is one of the greatest pleasures in Portofino. From the footpath will lead you to the Church of San Giorgio, which is believed to contain relics of St. George. Beautiful symbolic wedding ceremonies in Portofino are held in Castle Brown, with a terrace offering a magnificent view of Portofino and its harbour/ Also, symbolic ceremony in Portofino can be held at the Abbey of San Girolamo, founded in the 14th century by the Benedictines.

The charming town of Santa Margherita Ligure located near Portofino also offers magnificent opportunities for your wedding ceremony. Santa Margherita Ligure is more democratic than the resort of Portofino, but undoubtedly is no less charming. Very cute city center has a small square and a park, surrounded by small restaurants overlooking the harbor filled with yachts and colourful fisherman houses. The whole town is very green and it offers great romantic walks overlooking the sea and from where you can admire the sunsets. Some of the most beautiful buildings here are still decorated with Trompe l'oleil, frescos that are fairly typical in this part of the Italian Riviera.
Formal wedding ceremonies are held in a villa Durazz o- a luxurious villa  build in the 17th century. Ceremonies are held in the beautiful garden of the villa surrounded by Italian style fountains, statues and colorful flowering plants. 

Portovenere, which means a "Port of Venus" is very romantic place for wedding ceremony. It is a delightful town with cute colorful houses, which contrast with the shimmering blue sea and a serene sky. Wedding  ceremonies in Portovenere can be held in  two magnificent site – a charming church of St Peter perched on a high cliff overlooking the sea, and the medieval castle Doria, also situated on a cliff, offering stunning views over Portovenere and Ligurian coast. From the port of Portovenere you can take boat trips to the island of Palmaria, or visit the area Cinque Terre - five historic villages protected by UNESCO.
